This is normal behaviour. You can use manually patched BIOS (by BIOS Patcher) or flash rt_6btm.bin in another EEPROM (as I remember this version of BIOS works normally with Winbond 29xxxx, but NOT with Macronix EEPROM's) Note that on 6BTM default EEPROM is from Macronix

For example, I have Winbond 29xxxx & after patching rt_6btm.bin bios by bios-patcher still experiencing problems with Unknown Flash Type message.
