Dear colleagues, I have next problem with different ACER ASPIRE 5104WLMI.
The problem was that USB (on all ports) was working only as USB 1.1 and often didn`t recognize USB devices attached to it.
I found IXP460 was defective with brown spot on it. I take him of, cleaned footers, checked them and soldered brend new IXP460 with leaded balls.
The result was no reaction from power button. Only green light starts for less then second and then nothing.
I tried to heat chip again, if I didn`t heat him enough. Nothing changed.
I take of this chip and placed another brand new. Maybe first one was broken also. Result is same. I tried even third chip with same resut.
On Power button I measure 17-19V as it sould be on working mobo.
I must say that I used only low temperatures from up and low heater, just enough for solder to melt properly. No footers were broken during procedure.
I see no demaged smd components near heating place.
I changed about 50 chips of that kind using same procedure end precaution measures until now and never had this effect.
What could went wrong?
Из вашего поста я не понял только одного, ставили ли вы чипы из этой партии ранее и были ли с ними проблемы. Поясню, сейчас идёт партия бракованных чипов IPX460 из Китая, несколько моих коллег уже нарвались, внешне они практически не отличаются, а реально это пустышка. Так что возможно вы просто купили партию бракованных чипов.
Place back old chip to ensure that problem in it.

Насколько я понял, раньше он ставил другие при том же "термопрофиле" без проблем, но не эти.

I had 2 diferent series of those chips. From 2 diferent suppliers. I put some of chips from both series on other mobos and they ware working.

I think, if chips were good, that some of capacitors were bad and wait for me to heat mobo and then die. I searced for them but none found bad.
Jega, when put new chip, at first heat it about 30-60 mins at 80-100 degree.
You mean, there is something in chip that will evaporate or consolidate during that heating? It have sense.
My coleague that is repairing mobile phones, just told me that he do that kind of procedure on some kind of chips becouse there is some moist that have to be eliminated from chip. Hese chinese supplier told him so.
