Имеется ноутбук ACER Travel Mate 2300. Проблема в следующем: купил жёсткий диск Western Digital WD3200BEVE объемом 320Гб, установил его в ноут. Программы (Acronis, Windows, PQM...) отображают объём жёсткого диска как 128Гб, хотя модель показывается правильно. На оффициальном сайте новых прошивок нет. Что сделать, чтобы мой ноут увидел жёсткий диск в полном объёме? Есть вариант пропатчить BIOS?

Почему MHDD на новом накопителе не запускали? Скорее всего стоит ограничение HPA...

В модуле Strings есть такие строки:
HDD Master ID: HDD2 Master ID:
This setting enables or disables 32 bit IDE data transfers.
32 Bit I/O:
Cylinders:
Select the method for moving data to/from the drive.
Autotype the drive to select the optimum transfer mode.
Transfer Mode:
Heads: 1 10 11 12 13 14 15 16 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9
Enable or Disable the IDE Controller.


Total Sectors: 16 Sectors 2 Sectors 4 Sectors 8 Sectors
Specify the number of sectors per block for multiple sector transfers.
'MAX' refers to the size the disk returns when queried.


Multi-Sector Transfers: Fast PIO 1 Fast PIO 2 Fast PIO 3 Fast PIO 4 FPIO 3 / DMA 1 FPIO 4 / DMA 2
Standard Sectors: Maximum Capacity: IDE - Device 31, Function 1:
User = you enter parameters of hard-disk drive installed at this connection.
Auto = autotypes hard-disk drive installed here.
1-39 = you select pre-determined type of hard-disk drive installed here.
CD-ROM = a CD-ROM drive is installed here.
ATAPI Removable = removable disk drive is installed here.

Значит мона наверное менять настройки, а раз их не видно при входе в сетап - возможно стоит пароль супервизора, а входите под юзером, поэтому и не видно, нужно мануал от бука читать.

новый винт подключал через усб-контроллер, произвёл разметку, отформатировал, проверил в MHDD - объём верный, HPA не активен, т.е. винт работает правильно.

скорей всего в этом проблема:
Северный мост: Intel Montara-GML i852GM
Южный мост: Intel 82801DBM ICH4-M

вот открой в редакторе прошивку
и выбери пункт ROM Executable Code
и справа потом выбери Hard Disk Features
в окне BIOS Config... Params... на 48Bits не стоит *
короче, не ясно, правильно собирает этот редактор или нет, но мона им загрузить изменённый модуль romexec и build или изменить в ZL1F3A07.WPH по адресу 76839 - 59 на D9
тады * на 48 появляется... :-D
