I found the problem, though. My vendor sent me the wrong CPU. I got an XP Mobile instead of a Thorton. It runs quite well, but with too high voltage.

Maybe there is a way to lower the CPU core voltage insted of exchanging the CPU again.

Almost no way, without losing CPU's or mobo's integrity. To make voltage lower - you need hardware changes. If you are not afraid of some cutting and soldering - you can do it, otherwise - you'd better change either CPU or its cooler.

PS A lot of overclocking fans are dreaming about getting a real XP-Mobile...

PPS Almost forgot - mobile CPUs on desktop boards show that they are getting 2.00V. That's just a monitoring glitch, not a real value.

The cooler is an Arctic Cooling Copper Silent TC.

I've paid about Ђ64.

Now I've used BP 4.51, and the temerature is lower than before (about 46°C with no load) and drops quickly when there is no load. It's never over 46°C and 1700 rpms now. And the fan can go much faster than that. My old Athlon Thunderbird 1400C always was over 52°C and well over 2000rpm.

All looks like OK whit standard temp. & volt. variations.
Did you look in bios this values, monitoring software sometimes lies.
Did you meen CPU cost 64 euro?
Every CPU is colder then Athlon Thunderbird 1400

I've tried the /A option, but it seems, I did it wrongly.

How do I set the CPU to 13.5 right from the start?
