The one who did the translation was Olga Kokoreva (IIRC). From my experience working with her, I know that she's quite knowledgeable. Nonetheless, comparing to articles here at rom.by or ixbt.com, it is much easier to understand those articles than the sample chapter of the book. Even though my Russian is so bad, even I could tell the difference
Anyway, looking at the page count, it seems that the Russian version is a bit more elaborate (maybe closer to my original manuscript) than the English version because quite a lot of things has been moved to the CD-ROM in the English version due to sheer page count.
